Final Fantasy XV rumored for Project Cafe?

The above image is a snapshot from the game Deus Ex: Human Revolution, showing that even in the future (2027) the FF franchise will go on (XXVII being 27). 2027, FF27? Eitherway, in the present world, rumors are curculating that Final Fantasy XV (15) will grace Nintendo's next gen. console, code named Project Cafe.

It was clearly only a matter of time before a "leaked list" of Nintendo goodies for this year's E3 would be leaked, and the latest one has a ton of information about Project Cafe.

The most interesting pieces of information though, is that the leaked list claims Final Fantasy XV will be shown on Project Cafe during Nintendo's press conference.

Square Enix have shown their support to Nintendo in a big way in recent years, with the Crystal Chronicles franchise, Dragon Quest IX and Dragon Quest X and of course, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance.

When Dragon Quest X was announced for the Wii, I wrote an article suggesting that Final Fantasy XIV (if it were the next numbered installment) could follow suit, but that turned out to be an online installment.

The cheque came in last night in my home town. Got my mother to cash that in, but according to the bank it'll take up-to 6 weeks to process it 0_o Not gonna love this long wait at all. I'm already behind on a few games, both on the PC and PS3, with The Witcher 2 being one of them. Sooooo, I decided to treat myself and get the first one (Enhanced Edition) and to try and complete that in the 6 weeks I've got, then I can go straight into Assassins of Kings once I build my new system.

My traffic accident claim has nearly come to it's long awaited end, with my solicitor ringing me this morning to confirm the offer I'm eligible to receive in the amount of £2726.68. SWEEEEEEEEET! This is for the accident that took place last November outside of my University.

I was only told early this year after my medical report that my solicitor is going to go for a starting offer of £3000. But to be on the safe side, accept £2200 as a minimum if they don't comply. Either-way, like most in my situation, I was looking at the £3000 figure. They did say they'd shoot for a max of £2700 if £3k doesn't hold.... which seems like it was the case. Anyways, after seeing the the proposed figures, my mind has be racing with ideas on what to do with the money once I get it. A well deserved holiday was the first thought, but I not likely to spend all the cash just on that. Then I remembered that I wanted an Apple Mac for my course, for video editing and other such similar tasks. I decided to go one step further with that idea.

Build a gaming rig, which can be ALSO used as my video editing workstation. Since about 2-3 weeks ago, I've been researching not only the different components required to build a gaming PC, but also how to actually build it as I've never built one fully myself knowing much about it. I've made my component list shortly after (actually, while researching), and I've come up with two rigs. I should say beforehand that I had the £2700-£3000 claim offer in mind, so I made a budget of £2000 for this build.

The other set is pretty much the same, except the CPU is an i7 960, MB's an Asus Rampage III Extreme and the RAM would be 6GB (3x2GB).... which turns out to be more expensive in total, but it was my first set. Upon helpful tips off a few people, I later changed to the rig listed above.

I'll have just under a £1000 to spare after I buy all this, which means a holiday is imminent for me.

Well for now I'll have to wait a couple of weeks for the cheque to arrive, then I'll post Part 2 of this blog, which should come with videos of the parts unboxing and such, as well as the overall build.

The REAL Tekken movie!

Tekken: Blood Vengeance is Namco's summer 2011 bound feature-length CG movie, set to be in stereoscopic 3D throughout. Based on the cinematic intros of Tekken 5 and 6, BV is a parallel story that takes place between both games, being described as a "suspense action film". Project leader of Tekken, Katsuhiro Harada actually revealed that the film's been in development since January 2010. The movie will be voiced in English and Japanese, with each character to speak in their own language. Namco has "tried as much as possible" to use the same voice actors from the games, but it's not clear how many voice actors are on board.... not that it matters really as long as the main characters are there.... or at least someone sounding like them (taking a good guess it'll be Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima)

If you're like me, disappointed in the 2010 live action Tekken movie even though most of us know video games-to-movies never turn out good, then this is definitely a movie to watch out for I reckon. It's made the guys themselves so they can't fuck it up, unless they lose their minds.... literally.

City on the Trophy hunt, Utd. lost their Treble chance!

Manchester City 1 - 0 Manchester United

Well that sucked. I wouldn't have mind the loss if it weren't for the amount of mistakes Utd. have made during that game as a whole. Valencia and Carrick being the costly culprits in my opinion. City's goal came from Yaya Toure after a poor pass attempt by Carrick, but not before a terrible clearing by Van der Sar.

On top of the goal, 20 minutes later Scholes got sent off after a full-studded, high leg foul on Zabalet. That kinda prevented any comebacks we could possibly make.

Ferguson FINALLY came to his senses and substituted Valencia off, for Hernandez.... however even with a fresh Anderson on as well, while still being down a man all hopes were lost.

Berbatov came SOOOO close to scoring earlier, after a nifty pass from Park in the box, but City's keeper Hart came rushing forward to save the shot. Not long after that, City had a throw-in where Evra took the ball back, passed to Nani who turned into the box and crossed it (ground) back to Berbatov who only managed to nudge the ball a few yards out. All he really needed was the slightest touch on the ball and that would have been in.

United took control of the game in the first 30 minutes, then just dropped after Berbatovs attempt... like they didn't care anymore. At least it looked that way to me. Obviously disappointed, really would have like another treble. Oh well, UEFA and PL it is then.

City goes on to face the winners of tomorrows game, Bolton vs. Stoke.

Fault-Line Gameplay Trailer [Full-12 mins] - Battlefield 3

Can not WAIT for this game to come out. Regarding other news on the game; minor details on the yet-to-be-shown MP, and maps scaled down for console version, which makes sense for 24 players. This is only for ground battles btw, i.e. Jets will have the same map scale as the PC version to manoeuvre, it's just the scaled down for infantry... which again when you look at it makes sense for the console side.

BF3 won't include Commander Mode. Personally I've never played in the commander position in BF2, so I don't really care about this. Would have been nice to try it out, though I guess I still could on BF2. Either-way, I'm hoping my accident compensation comes through soon; claim to have a proposed opening offer of £3000.... would be SWEET if I get the full £3000. That way I could get a new rig and might be able to get BF3 for the PC after-all, otherwise I'm looking at the PS3 version seeing as my beta access is on said system ^_^

Thought Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland wasn't as 'fucked' up as you'd have want it to be from him? Yeah, I do too. Maybe this is more to you're liking:

Alice: Madness Returns is, and I just found this out, a sequel to the 2000 PC/MAC only game American McGee's Alice. It's a third person horror action-adventure game set 11 years after the first game, which in turn is a direct sequel to Lewis Carroll's famous book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865) and Through the Looking-Glass (1871) respectively.

Suffice to say, from the trailers these games are more twisted than the original tale, to which many Tim Burton fans expected his movie to be the same. But, being under the Disney brand, you can understand why it's not the case. I vaguely remember hearing about the first game but I was too young to care plus I wasn't a PC gamer as such back then. Might check the first game out after seeing the trailers for this sequel.

Alice: Madness Returns is currently in development for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, and is slated for a June 14th 2011 release. Check out IGN's gameplay demos below.

Being Poor Means Being Busy. [UPDATED]

Since I started Uni I've had non-stop assignments, upon assignments. Went through 2/3's of my Student Loan without having anything to show for it, not been out much because I'm whack with money.... and I've been behind gaming wise since I got Gran Turismo 5 for Christmas last year. It's not such a biggie right now seeing as I've only avoided buying Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds and Killzone 3. Also, with all the Dead Space 2 ads I've been seeing, it's kinda forcing me to grow some interest for that game as well. I remember playing the demo for the first one and not liking it, hence why I never bothered with the series. My mate says he know someone he can get the first game off, if that's the case I could try it out and see it my decision changes or stands.

Anyway, my next Student Loan comes in on the 28th of March, and I have to survive till then, and not just gaming wise; on food and transport, as well as the rent and various bills. Lucky for me, post-reading week I'm only in 2 days a week, so that'll cut my train costs down alot. Still leaves food, which I'm hoping my mum can cook loads for me to just pop out of the freezer; remind me to get loads of Pasta-n-Sauce's and canned food.... and maybe a few Fray's :P

As for games, boy there were quite alot a news these past couple of weeks. No doubt most of you've seen the Battlefield 3 news and trailers here and there. Been anticipating this for a LONG TIME. Finally coming out this year, with the lead version being the PC (rightfully so). 64-player (PC) MP, prone, jets, a SP this time round... all sounds good. Map Pack from BF2, even better. Coming out for PC as well as the PS3 and 360, should be on top of the competition... which probably will be Modern Warfare 2, though Activision is surprisingly hush-hush about it. Anyway, another game which might look like a CoD copycat is Homefront. Set in the future where North Korea invades The States. Sound great right? Not really. Only thing keeping my interest is the MP details.

This comes out on the 18th of March. On top of that, by the time the 28th comes along I'd have a back catalogue of games to buy; including Homefront, Marvel vs. Capcom and Killzone 3 there's, MotorStorm: Apocalypse, Crysis 2 and Dragon Age II... which reminds me I still need to finish the first one.

The demos for both Killzone 3 and Dragon Age II are out now if you're interested in trying them out. Play through the DAII demo and you unlock some...weapon to use in the full game, or whatever. Anyway, news is a Crysis 2 MP demo's planned for the PS3.... they better hurry seeing as it's coming out soon.

Catching Up

Well what can I say? Been a while since I posted, due to being very busy with Uni amongst other things. Well, today's going to be a catch up session:

University's been pretty good and a nice experience especially in this new course (Media, Film and TV). Met some decent group of lads and girls, been out with some and plan on doing plenty of that. The course itself seems to be taking a slow rise to interesting-ville but I reckon I'll be intrigued by every lecture in a few months. Handed my first script work (3 min) the other week, have to say it was an interesting assignment seeing it's my first proper script.

The New England Patriots (4-1) went off to an okay start with their obvious weaknesses shinning. We shinned against the Bengals, failed to capitalise against the Jets (5-1), rushed past the Bills (despite our defence allowing 30 points) and comfortably owned Miami with our rookies... without Randy Moss catching a single ball. Their last game against the Ravens was a close one though, and not having Moss for the deep balls did take a toll on us. Though we went to OT, and eventually beat them 23-20. Currently Jets top the division, but I have confidence in the Pats that they'll take that throne.
Randy Moss moves to his former team, the Vikings with then giving us their Draft picks. Although it does look like we can control the next Draft, I still didn't want to see him go. I know he wasn't happy especially with a lack of contract extension talk, but I would have liked for him to at least play out the rest of the season for us. Now with Moss gone, we can use our other weapons more and I don't mean just WR's. Mostly the running game, which we have stepped up as of the last few games.

As if Randy Moss wasn't enough, across the pond in the homefront, Wayne Rooney isn't too happy with the United. Citing the club lacks ambition, he's definitely lost alot of respect and support by many fans of the team. The general chants are that, and I share the feeling, he can go anywhere but Man City - they don't need him anyway. If anywhere I'd like to seem him at Spurs, he can done great things for the club which needs to prove this year that last year wasn't as fluke.
There's been alot of new forms of music coming my way. First of all, got a new MP4 player, the Philips GoGear 16GB Ariaz. As for the music itself, new purchases (well, one purchase, the rest downloaded) includes Magnetic Man's debut album as well as Swedish House Mafia's. Found Afrojack's BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, Deluxe Dubstep from Pirate Station [2010], Wu-Tang Meets The Indie Culture Vol. 2: Enter The Dubstep, a couple odd songs from Boy 8-Bit, the new Annie Mac album and lastly Tinie Tempah's debut album, Disc-Overy. Pretty good month for music don't you think?
Medal of Honor came out last Friday and I've been enjoying it ever since. The realism of warfare is so refreshing and is really a welcoming addition to the FPS genre. The online MP isn't too bad either. Some pretty straight forward modes and the maps are well done, not to flat like in CoD or BFBC2. Other than that, I downloaded Sonic 4, Blade Kitten, Lara Croft, MoH Frontline: (which came with MoH), and rented Enslaved.

New Season, New England

The 2010/11 NFL season starts today, and I'm all fired up. Due to money issues and not being able to afford a cable/digital subscription, this will be the first season I'm going to watch after their horrendous defeat to the NY Giants at Super Bowl XLII. Now that was a edge-of-your-seat season for us. Anyways, I've been following them on the NFL website through the gametracker and watching clips online. Not surprisingly I wasn't happy with what I saw. Been a fan since 98/99 so you can imagine what my expectations are for the Pats... pretty much every year.

Didn't see much of the pre-season, but then again most of the starting players don't either. Brady only saw 8 attempts (4 which were completed) in their last pre-season game against the Giants, which they lost 20-17. Then again, it is pre-season. The Brady-Moss connection is still awake which is always good. Haven't seen much of Welker to talk about him, but then all that will change this Sunday. What the Pats need, though, is an improved rushing game and better rush defence. They lack that for the most part of the 2007/08 season that I last left, and from what I've been told, not much has changed. We have decent to great RB to work with here, hopefully Ivan Fears (RB assistant coach) can get the best out of them. Consistency and a chance at the Super Bowl, that's all we need.

Today, however, it's the Super Bowl XLIV champs, New Orleans Saints hosting the Minnesota Vikings. The Saints defeated one of the teams I hate (with passion) the most, the Colts with an impressive 31-17 score. Indie started off with 10 points in the first quarter but slowly but surely the Saints came back to dominate.

Not sure who will be the starting QB for the Vikings, but they should have that fixed by now. Keep an eye out for Adrian Peterson as well, no doubt he'll show how dynamic he is and his quick pace here tonight. The Saints might suffer from the Super Bowl 'hangover' as most teams have, but hopefully their first game gives them a level of consistency and confidence at the start of a new season.

FIFA 11 Wishlist

I’ve been playing Manager Mode on FIFA 10 as of late, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I have no idea what ’09 offered, so this was all new to me. I decided to go for my hometown team, Division 1’s Stockport County (who got relegated to Division 2 this year, gay). I thought with the 15 year season the Manager goes through in this mode, it would be more of an accomplishment to promote the team to the Premier League than play as my regular team of Man Utd and stay on top for the 15 years.

Upon doing so, I’ve seen the flaws of the mode as well as the game more and decided to jot it down for a FIFA 11 Wishlist.

MANAGER MODE
• Training sessions – Replace staff upgraded with ACTUALL training. Wouldn’t it be better for the actual gamer as well as the player to go through training, using the controls and adjusting to them? Currently it’s on a pay system where you pay something like £300,000 to £600,000 + to upgrade ONE F***ING STAR. I mean it takes ages plus it doesn’t help you, the gamer.

• Fatigue system – Just because a team is of a lower league DOESN’T mean that they fatigue easily, especially after every freaking match. I mean how pathetic have they made the lower divisions out to be? They’re professionals as well you know; they train and work hard like other pros. I can guarantee you that they fatigue less than you or I will after a match or two.

• Mood system – I haven’t tried the top teams, but again with the lower league teams it seem like they’re NEVER in a good mood. Worse, they’re not aware of the importance of each match. I need that to improve. My team, currently, has the record of 13-2-3, and is at the top of the league (which is more than what I can say about them in RL). We’ve not been knocked off that spot, YET. What does it take for my players to be happy?

GENERAL
• A.I. – Improved A.I. Especially in terms of pressing and urgency. Also in the responsiveness of the A.I. controlled team mates. I don’t want them to just ask for the ball, which they do here, but to run into a better position to pass to and not just running parallel. They can let us create our own run plays; pick the players, positioning, pace level etc. All this would be better if they were aware of their surroundings as well, i.e. avoid off-sides more.

• Difficulty – They can do two things here (or both). One, improve the World Class setting. I don’t want a hard mode for the sake of it being hard. I want it to be more realistic. There are so many things the A.I. opposition does here that no pro would ever do. E.g., when do you EVER see Ferdinand lob the ball 7-8 times during the match for it to go out for a goal kick every time? And when does a last man tackle occur so viciously multiple times during a match, blatantly to take him out? Once or twice probably, but not more if the team’s smart. Two, adaptive difficulty.

• Improved Goalkeeping – This they’re already boasting about, but what exactly is improved we’ll know when we get a demo. Basically I’m looking for quicker reaction time, ability to change dive/save direction, ability to pick up passbacks etc.

• Control – More control, defensively, when dribbling, when fighting for the ball, commit controlled players to go after the ball after commencing a minor tackle (X/A) rather than changing cursors, quick throw-ins, pressure sensitive right stick (for kick the ball ahead whilst dribbling), less rocked moments, stumble or respond quicker when tripped or rocked.

• Referee – Improve the f*** out of it. I know Football is backwards for not have video replays and as such doesn’t have a definite rule on callings and fouls. It all depends, in RL, on the mood of the ref on that game day. EA needs to sit down and make genuine rules to stick in every game. Some calls are atrocious, others favour the A.I. Either improve the ref to make it more accurate (consider leniency and harshness etc), or let us customise the referee callings fully; that way we can make accurate calls ourselves.

Other stuff would include weather conditions affecting the game, dynamic commentary, improved team individuality (no team plays the same, not just formation but styles of play and pace). Example of the last one would be Chelsea playing rush football, where as Manchester City playing calm, decisive football. It works for them, others have their own style.

I do hope FIFA 11 shapes up to be one of the best football games of all time; they’re not far of either. It already sounds like a much improved version of 10, but I’ll need the full game to determine that for myself.

MotorStorm: Apocalypse... might actually be cool.

I was never into the MotorStorm franchise. Sure I had fun with the first one, and the boost meter, but it still didn't feel like a keeper of a game. I only got the first one 'cause there were hardly any games out for the PS3 back then. Like the choice of the urban location, always preferred it for arcady racers. What's interesting is that on its Wikipedia page, there's mention of a Story, but as of this post there's no source to back it up. Apparently it's more story driven.. huh. Kinda like NFS and Midnight Club? Who knows. I mean the first clue could be the fact that it's based in one location, quite bluntly called The City, based off of the Bay Area of California.

The Singleplayer see's you in a number of races in set tracks. The twist here, however, is that no track is the same twice (from what I've read). Tracks are able to get damaged, buildings collapses to the ground (sort of like SplitSecond). The real kick is the fact that the track can change in real time and the damage stays next time you race on that particular track. Sweet, though I'd have to actually experience it to see whether it's challenging everytime or not. You can customize you vehicle with various items such as vinyl, handling, parts, boost as well as offensive abilities through perks. Seems like new vehicles additions include supercars, muscle cars, superbikes and choppers. A nice update to the vehicles 'cause the first games line-up did put me off from playing the game on a regular basis.

Video Games | MotorStorm: Apocalypse | GC 10: Falling City Gameplay (Cam)

XBox 360 | Playstation 3 | Nintendo Wii

Multiplayer features ranked matches, with the ability to earn perks for your vehicle to modify handling, boost and 'offensive capabilities'. You can also create your own game modes, setting the rules and conditions for winning. It supports 16 players online, 4 split-screen, even take 4 players locally online.

So far it looks to my liking. Here's to hoping for a demo late this year, with the game being scheduled for a Q1 2011 release. Gran Turismo 5 should keep me occupied till then.

No-kill Game Possible in Metal Gear Rising

It's always been a good challenge to beat any Metal Gear game with no kills (bar the obvious bosses). I've personally done it in Snake Eater and Guns of the Patriots, though with the equipment and improvement on controls than their successor, it wasn't at all hard. Rising will continue this trend by allowing you to complete the game without killing a single human, though you are able to cut , say, the enemy's hands off and his weapons which will make them run away in fear. However, with a game emphasising "cut at will", there are other enemies such as Cyborgs and various Mechs you can cut away... and if you wanted to, the odd watermelon ¬_¬

I've been a fan of the series since I first laid eyes on MGS for the PSone. It was revolutionary for its time, and had one of the best video game stories/plot. The series after that had it's ups and downs; Raiden for the most part of 2, when we were fooled with the Tanker mission. Though Snake Eater redeemed that... kinda. Guns of the Patriots is my second MGS game as of now and seeing Raiden as a badass in 4 was just amazing. Everyone speculated Raiden will get his own game, and with him going ninja, it was almost certain.

Rising was announced at the Microsoft E3 Press Conference last year, though it'll also come out for the PS3 and Games For Windows. Even though the Xbox FINALLY got MGS on their system, and not to be a fanboy or anything, they'll never have the true Metal Gear we've all come to love. I mean, 2 in the form of Substance isn't the best game to get ported now is it?

Same old, same old; she had a son in Iraq who was KIA. Now she wants to address this game to the public, saying that "Families burying their children are going to be seeing this and playing this". I like how she assumes that families that are suffering are going to go out and buy the game immediately after burying their dead and suffer more. Also the obvious was stated that if you don't want to play it, don't buy it, but that still won't stop her from going about making this known as an issue to the masses. As for kids playing this game; it has a mature rating so if kids get their hands on the game, the blames on the parents and not the developers (even though they've not done anything wrong here).

Also, when the hell have you ever, in FPS's, cared about what faction you're playing as? They play for no objectives relating to being a Yank or a Taliban or whoever. They're covering this 'issue' like it's the main plot of the game (the SP see's you in the American perspective anyway).

She goes on to say that WWII games are fine because "that's far removed, that's not based on real people". Jesus, I totally forgot that MoH is =/

I was really into the first one, but missed the second for no particular reason. Good to see the franchise being revived, but will it be worth it? From the looks of it, it has the same cover system as Rainbow Six and other, with the game primarily in FP view. Health regenerates which is a break from series tradition, and there are these abilities called mechanical augmentations (in the first two it was nanotech). There are four type; Combat, Stealth, Technology and Social. Apparently the enemy reacts differently to each and how you go about handling your business, which isn't anything revolutionary in video games.

I still need to see more before I make this a buy or rent.

UPDATE: Edios Montreal has told Eurogamer to assure the series long time fans that they're not leading, despite the health-regen and cover system, the prequel in an action FPS game.

"It's the same blend of first-person shooter slash RPG that the first game was.

"Honestly, I know when we said it's going to have auto-regen and a cover system and shooting is not going to be stat-based anymore, a lot of people went, 'oh my God! Now they're doing just an action game and it's all about running around and shooting.'

"It's a fair concern when you just hear that this way. I totally understand it. But it has never been our goal to transform Deus Ex into a shooter game.

Dugas insisted that hardcore fans will find a stiff challenge in Human Revolution.

"You have a challenge that's not necessarily easy. It's not the case that because the shooting is more straightforward and you have regen that you're going to be invincible.

"You'll have to think. You'll have to look around you and maybe find other ways than just shoot and see what happens.

"We're balancing the game right now, and I can tell you when there are a few characters on screen that are after you, if you don't take care, a few bullets and you're dead.

"It's not going to be more of an action game than the other ones. It's just when you're in an action segment it's going to be more straightforward."

Treyarch has released a Multiplayer teaser for our viewing pleasure and no doubt that it will create the same hype Modern Warfare 2 had, it's still interesting to note what's new at our disposal. Aside from the different weapons and ammo types, there are some really neat gadgets in this new addition of CoD. One that might cause a nuisance is the CCTV cam that stand on a tripod with the user able to place it where the game allows him to. Interesting to note that he's able to pick it up again (like the turret killstreak reward from MW2). Mind you, with dedicated servers promised for the PC version, the right mod and these cams can be placed in locations where no one will ever think to look... and that might create some problems amongst us gamers. Too early to tell.

Another is the remote controlled explosive toy car..... ehh? Wonder if it has its own exclusive MP mode. Imagine controlling 4 of these bad boys towards a horde of Vietcong-Zombies (not confirmed btw :P).

Also, at the end of the teaser, it's revealed that you're able to record, save and upload screenshots as well as videos (sort of like FIFA's replay system). It's always worth recording the best killstreak or kill once in a while.

Man Utd lifts the Shield.

Manchester United pulled off an impressive 3-1 victory over Chelsea today for the FA Community Shield. For the most parts it was quite even, back and forth with Chelsea maybe playing slightly better. Valencia scored the first goal at 41', then Hernandez (Chicarito) at 76' with a bizzare finish as he shot from the cross but stumbled with he ball hitting his face to only go in for United's second goal. United's back four plus Van Der Sar were definitely worked the most, stuffing Chelsea the moment they tried to go in for the kill, though Kalou did get a rebound shot in coming from an attempt from team mate Sturridge on goal. That wasn't going to stop united, no sir. As United looked to run down the clock in injury time they played possession football involving Nani, Fletcher and Giggs, which soon became chance on goal for Berbatov, lifting the ball over the onrushing Hilario (GK). A total of 20 passes before the shot, and what a way to finish and seal the game.

[Eurogamer] Tekken X Street Fighter NOT at Gamescom

Namco Bandai's recently announced Tekken X Street Fighter gamescom event will not feature Tekken X Street Fighter, as was suggested.

Earlier today Namco distributed a press release entitled: "The giants of fighting come face to face at gamescom for Tekken X Street Fighter."

The release said Tekken head honcho Katsuhiro Harada and Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono will "clash in a public spectacle", and gamers can compete in a live on-stage tournament.

"Sparks will fly as they come face to face for a deadly Tekken X Street Fighter duel between fight game greats at this year's vast gamescom event in Cologne, Germany," the release read.

However, Namco Bandai has confirmed to Eurogamer that Harada and Ono will play each other at Street Fighter X Tekken, not Tekken X Street Fighter.

Additionally, Street Fighter X Tekken will not playable "for the masses", but people will be picked out of the audience to participate in a competition to win goodies

Kinda irritating for those that are going, but hope to see more in the future. I'm more interested to see what Namco's doing on their project, what with the possibilities of no projectiles and 3D. This will just play out like an updated version of SSFIV with a Tekken roster. The juggle system, though, mostly resembles Tekken's so it could be interesting. I am kinda pissed that I had to go through the first SFIV, then Super to eventually being told that this was coming out, but I suppose I'll get this as well.

Sucker Punch (March 25, 2011)

Maybe I was high when I saw this, but this looks f***ing KICK ASS! It's not Kick Ass, but in-fact Sucker Punch. Directed by Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen), it takes place in the 50's where a girl gets sent to a mental institution and during her time there she dreams up an alternate reality. Sounds kinda like Alice in Wonderland doesn't it? Well, it's like that... but with guns... and a better dragon/beast. The rest is all cliche, but it looks sick nonetheless. Didn't like 300, but loved Watchman and even Dawn of the Dead. This in 3D could be well worth it as well, but after Clash of the Titans I'll probably approach it in caution.

Two things I want to address here:

MoH Beta thoughts of those who are in
Linkin Park

The feedback from alot of the gamers around me aren't very positive about the Beta. Though I'm not in it and have only seen gameplay footages, all the negativity is making me skeptical about buying the game. Most common complaint I've heard is the fact that it resembles Battlefield: Bad Company 2... without the finesse. This being my first fear when I saw beta videos, you have to remember that the MP's engine is based on BFBC2's Frostbite Engine whereas the SP's Unreal Engine 3. Not saying that that's okay and thus the reason why many aren't fond of the Beta, just that it's not always the case of beta being terrible so game must be also (remember Bad Company 2). I think I'll reserve judgment for the game as a whole untill I get my hand on the SP. It's meant to be more realistic unlike Modern Warfare, so we'll wait and see,

Now with Linkin Park, or more specifically their new single 'The Catalyst'; I don't like it. I hate their change after Meteora (which was their move btw), they were never the same after. A few... OK tunes here and there from Minutes to Midnight, but not the LP I grew up loving with. Oh well, at least Limp Bizkit's coming bac..... oh wait, is that good? =/

So what do you think guys, you want Silva to lose the belt as much as I do after a disrespectful performance against Maia? Or am I in the minority here? I don't deny that he's a talented fighter, he's just over cocky and I hate that. I want, though probably not going to happen, to see Sonnen kick his f***ing behind.

The other match I'm interested in is Nelson's (15-4). Coming off an impressive TUF season then beating Stefan Struve at Fight Night in March, I'm counting on him to come back on form against a heavy duty opponent in Junior dos Santos (11-1).

The rest of the matchups aren't that interesting to me, though Fitch vs. Alves could be a cracker. Who knows.
